A total of 29 Clarksville ISD students participated in the P-TECH Summer Bridge Program this week under the direction of Colt Stacer, Clarksville ISD P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School), Consultant and Annette Hobbs, P-TECH Coordinator along with the help of Diane Rosser and our Industry Partner, Turner Industries.Summer Bridge provides a combination of academics, occupational instruction and career guidance for students entering high school all the way up until graduation.Our rising freshman welding students did a great job creating welding symbols with previously zero exposure. Our rising sophomores created and welded metal dice. This was their first time welding and was under the instruction of Keath Tyson. Both groups dove into innovation and built mechanical designs that incorporated motion…DaVincie “Helicopter.”Our Health Science cohort students studied the many career choices in the Health Science field, studied blood types, Roman numerals, studied and labeled different types of bone fractures and were also introduced to medical equipment in which they had to go through and label. We are looking forward to incorporating more innovative activities as well as touring industries and healthcare facilities this fall.
